1. Pick a tune

• Press Top 100, Seisiún 1, Seisiún 2, Seisiún 3, Folk Songs, My Playlist or a playlist you made yourself. Click any tune in the list to open it or type a tune's name in the search box. Most alternate names should count too: "Sackow" finds Tripping Up The Stairs.
• Many tunes have several versions. Use the Variation dropdown to select the version you want to play.

2. Play it

• Press Play (or the space bar) to start and stop.
• Click bars on the sheet music, or use the Phrase buttons, to isolate individual parts of the tune. The selected bars play over and over.
• Tab shows the tune as guitar, banjo, bouzouki or scale-degree notation instead of sheet music.
• Clear Selection goes back to the whole tune. The tune (or your selected bars) repeats until you press Stop. Count-in gives you 1 to 4 bars of rest after pressing Play, and Rest between loops adds 1 to 4 bars of rest between each repeat. Red numbers count you in.
• Drag the Tempo slider or press the left and right arrow keys to adjust tempo or press Tap (or the T key) on the beat three or more times. It uses the average of your last few taps.

3. Playlists

• Top 100 and Seisiún 1 to 3 and Folk Songs are ready-made lists. If you do not want these lists you are free to delete them.
• My Playlist is yours to start with. Open a tune (from search or from any list), then press Add Tune to the playlist showing in the blue bar.

4. Saving and Import / Export

• On the website, your changes and edits stay in your own browser only for the current browsing session: they aren't shared or backed up, and a browser can delete them. To save your progress, settings and playlists, click Export at the top right. Export saves all playlists and settings as a single file.
• Export your data regularly!
• Import replaces everything: the site ends up with exactly the playlists and settings in the file. Playlists that aren't in the file disappear, including My Playlist and the ready-made lists.
• If you change your mind, press Undo, or use the Restore my data link at the bottom of the page, which still works after a reload.
• Clear All Data and Restore Default Playlists, at the very bottom of the page, erases everything this website has saved in your browser. You are asked first. A Restore my data link then appears just above it to bring it all back, until the next Import or Clear.
